TD-LTE is Chinese fourth generation mobile communication technology and china has the intellectual property rights. The core technologies of TD-LTE are OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) and MIMO (Multiple-Input Muitiple-Output) which make TD-LTE have the characteristics of high peak data rate, low transmission latency and high mobility. General purpose platform has the capibility of efficient instruction-level parallel processing which can greatly improve the real-time processing of LTE system. And the research about it has become a hotspot.The main work and innovation of this paper is the implementation and optimization of TD-LTE downlink processing on GPP platform.The implementation relying on the downlink radio link design covers AGC, Cell Search, Front-end decode, Channel Estimation, Channel equalization, De-resource Mapping and following bit-level processing.The optimization aiming to improve the performance of TD-LTE downlink receiver contains compiler optimization, SISD instruction set optimization and SIMD instruction set optimization based on CPU’s micro architecture. Finally it comes up to a time-cost distribution according to experimental verification and to a proposal for TD-LTE downlink optimization on GPP platform according to used optimization in this program, which has a good reference to the performance of other types of GPP platform implementation and optimization.
