| The haste development of mobile Internet and the popularity of mobile devices have stimulated the spawn of a variety of services and applications which specifically designed for mobile terminals. Among all these services the importance and ubiquity of location-based service is incomparable. Besides the applications that focus at location and navigation, the location-based service also plays an important to a lot of communication application, gaming application and social application as well. It provided the user more specific, instant and realistic service experience. Moreover, location-based service also improves the inter-operability of the applications, all of which heavily relies on the accurate location information that only a secure and trustworthy localization technology can supply.Accurate and trustworthy localization information is crucial to the functionality and performance of a variety of location-based services and applications. However, nowadays, the infrastructure used for localization, especially indoor localization which is pre-deployed in the building, is usually vulnerable to attacks, for example signal strength attacks or signal replay attacks. When under such attacks the localization accuracy usually suffers a great deal of debasement. In this paper, it first gives a review of some world’s typical wireless secure localization algorithms. Then from the perspective of real problems which encountered during the localization process of the localization system, combining with the merits of other secure localization algorithms, this paper focus on achieving robust wireless indoor localization when signal strength attack is presented on access points (APs). This paper also investigates the effects of signal strength attack on indoor localization, which is one of the most common attacks the localization system may suffer. Then it comes up with two attack-resistant algorithms to assure the efficiency and validity of the localization information under such attacks. For algorithm verification, this paper introduces the test beds which is an Android based application that integrated the localization engine’s API (application programming interface). The application software can be used to testify algorithm and emulate attacks with much less effort. The algorithms can filter out attacker AP(s), and is able to be integrated into existing localization engine. This paper also detailed the test result of the algorithms on ICT’s localization engine with an IEEE802.11(Wi-Fi) environment. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed secure algorithms can effectively achieve accurate localization demands when some of the APs are under signal strength attacks as compared to the localization result of under situations without attack. Thus the experiments proves that the algorithms improve the security and trustworthy of the location information. The contribution of the paper comes with two major aspects. Firstly, it designed and implemented two algorithms specially focus on the realm of indoor secure localization, which also ensure the security and trustworthiness of the localization information. The algorithm can distinguish and remove the malicious access points. Secondly, the android-based software improves the effectiveness of the localization system by simplify the effort of sampling process and emulation process. |
