Wireless LAN is adopted as a wireless network access technology, the techniques of bearing multimedia services over it are regarded as a developing requirement. In the research area of video multicast over wireless network, Scalable Video Coding, Hybrid FEC/ARQ reliable multicasting scheme, Joint Source Channel Coding multicasting scheme and video multicast resource distribution algorithms are key technologies.Currently, different kinds of wireless device are produced and device heterogeneities are also increasing in wireless networks. In the same time, for the reason that wireless device can move arbitrarily inside a wireless signal coverage, the channel states of each device also vary. In another word, transmission channel heterogeneities also exist in a multicast network. Scalable Video Coding is developed to solve these heterogeneity problems.Comparing to the traditional wired channel transmissions, wireless networks have some characteristics like low channel bandwidth, large transmission.losses and unstable wireless channels. Moreover, multicasting schemes based on the IEEE802.11protocols are regarded as unreliable schemes. As a result, more research should be performed to guarantee the reliability of wireless multicasting. Moreover, when organizing and managing the multicast networks, multicasting server should choose superior algorithms to perform efficient resource scheduling to solve device heterogeneity problem and channel quality heterogeneity problem. In conclusion, this paper researches in scalable video wireless multicasting schemes and the major works include the following three points:First of all, this paper researches in solving the wireless video multicasting problem, by analyzing several types of wireless multicasting error control schemes and performing simulation experiments to perform capacity comparisons. Moreover, in the latter chapters, scalable video wireless multicasting scheme are designed according to the simulation results. Moreover, basing on the Layered Hybrid FEC/ARQ scheme, this paper utilizes Asymmetric Nash Bargaining Solutions of Cooperative Game Theory to innovatively propose a multicasting bandwidth distribution algorithm. This algorithm manages to provide a high capacity of overall multicasting system, in the same time ensures fairness among all video receivers. In this chapter, simulation experiments are performed to prove the performance of the proposed algorithm.Last but not least, this paper proposes wireless multicasting Joint Source Channel Coding bandwidth resource scheduling optimization model, with the respect to the user experience quality QoE. Utilizing the available bandwidth resources, video source coding strategies and channel protection strengths are chose according to the user requirements to optimize multicasting utilities. Simulations are also performed to prove the effectiveness of this resource scheduling optimization model.
