High power pulse technology is a new technology developed in recent years. Bystudying the strong electric pulse power amplification, a low power in a long time tostore the electric energy, and by means of various techniques for fast switching powerswitch, pulse compression, power amplification, pulse energy in a very short time in aparticular release the load. High-voltage pulse generator can crushing minerals, highefficiency, and high-voltage pulse generator technology breaking rocks environmentalpollution can be considered environmentally friendly technologies. Under certainconditions, this technique can be used instead of explosives. Through the use of pulsedpower technology proposed compact design of high voltage pulse generator.This paper designed a high voltage pulse generator uses a compact structure,making the volume of the generator is small, easy to operate. Various parts of generatoruses a modular design, the low pressure module, high voltage module and controlsystem. Build high-voltage pulse generator experimental platform to analyzeexperimental high-voltage pulse generator discharge characteristics and the principle ofmaterial damage. Grasp the main factors affecting the high-voltage pulse generatordischarge characteristics. The maximum input voltage is low voltage module311V,transfer from low module to high voltage module. The high-voltage module includeshigh voltage generator step-up transformer, high voltage hollow inductance, highvoltage capacitors, and bipolar switch. Select the components to go through a detailedtheoretical analysis and calculation, including the calculation of the energy storagecapacitor and selection, production and calculate inductance, two self-breakdownswitch design. Each part of the system in detail, the high-voltage breakdown electrodethrough COMSOL simulation to verify the reasonableness of the design. ThroughLTspice simulation to discharge characteristics verify the consistency of theexperimental and simulation. Experiment with different kinds of brittle solid phasematerial as a loads, analysis the breakdown voltage, aconductive switching gap anddischarge channel formed.Through simulation and experimental results show that the design of high voltagepulse generator can be discharge damage in different solid phase brittle material, discharge parameters can be controlled within the desired range.
