Beidou is the third global satellite navigation system with independentintellectual property rights of China, following USA and Russian, which is widelyused in many fields because of the functions of navigation and short messagecommunication. Meanwhile, as a hot spot of the times, the wireless sensor networkinfiltrated all aspects of our life, which complete information awareness,information collection, information processing massively, inexpensively andconveniently. In the information age, people’s demands are increasing and complexand the system’s application does not fully meet the market demand. Faced with theneed of a number of areas such as military defense, environmental monitoring,industrial monitoring, the fusion system is built on the integration of Compass andwireless sensor networks in the research.In this paper, receiver works, Compass application systems and the compositionof the Beidou satellite navigation system have been described, and then the systemarchitecture and functionality of wireless sensor networks have been described, too,what the design of a fusion system built in based on. Firstly, it tells the fusionsystem on architecture, workflow, hardware and software; and then the keytechnologies is mentioned for a detailed description; thirdly, compared with pureCompass and wireless sensor networks, it summarizes the characteristics of thefusion system in the various aspects of coverage area, data processing capabilities,positioning technology, system operators, etc; and finally, the applications of thesystem in mudslides and automatic monitoring,, logistics and transport iscertification.As the most basic and the most important information of the fusion system, howto obtain position information is very important. Under the premise of thedesigning system, the article deduced positioning algorithm rigorously. In thesimulation, a single system localization algorithms and fusion system locationalgorithm were compared, and it achieves the ideal simulation results.Finally, this paper makes a summary of the work, and points out the advantages of the system and improvement direction, and last, makes arrangements for the nextstep.
