For smart home environment, the design of the controller has become an importantconcern. Control system designed based on thermal comfort can obtain much higher ener-gy efciency than ones maintaining air temperature at a constant level. In order to satisfyoccupants’diferent kinds of demands for thermal comfort and better used the dynamicchange of outside environment to control indoor home environment, the design of controlsystem has become a challenge task. To challenge these points, Cyber-physical Systems(CPS) can be one of the potential approaches. CPS which is defined as tight integrationsof computation, communication, and control for active interaction between physical andcyber elements. It usually combines with a feedback loop in which physical activities canafect the cyber world, vice verse. It is believed that in both the academic and industrialcommunities that CPS will have great technical, economic and social impacts in the future. In this research, I focus on the design and evaluation of CPS-based thermal comfort control(TCC) system for home environment. The designed system is combined with Proportional-Integral (PI) controllers and supervisory controller. With the proposed energy efcient ther-mal comfort control (EETCC) algorithm, the supervisory controller can optimize the mul-tiple actuators; air-conditioner, curtain and window to adopt much more natural resourcesto maintain home environment staying within the demanded thermal comfort level ratherthan only using air-conditioner. Through this way, the TCC system can maintain the homeindoor environment staying in the desired comfort zone with relative high energy efciency.
