Exif Authentication For City Images Based On Street View

With the widely use of diverse image processing apparatus and image editing software,ordinary users get access to performing various of image editing operations. However, theconvenience of digital media at the same time raised the stakes of they easily being tampered andcounterfeited by malicious attacker, which may result in extremely serious economic and politicallosses. Therefore extracting more complete and accurate information and winnowing truth fromfalsehood turn the hotspots of the current research on digital image. Image authentication is in thiscontext come into being.To sum up, the traditional digital image authentication technologies include digitalwatermarking, digital signatures and digital image forensics techniques.The conventionalmethods mentioned above only detect and identify the authenticity and integrity of the pictures’contents,but fail to get involved in some other attribute information, such as detection andidentification of the information of latitude and longitude information very accurate,whichaccurately describe specific locations of the content of the image. Whether the contents of theimage keep accordance with the location recorded by latitude and longitude information, ie.whether the latitude and longitude information is true remains an urgent need for detection andverification. EXIF information is a group of shooting parameters embedded in JPEG and otherimage file formats, including image information, camera shooting parameters and GPS longitude,latitude, etc..In view of the defects that the conventional image forensics image technologies fail toverified the attribute information, this project proposed a method which takes use of Google StreetView to verified the attribute information of the latitude and longitude of street images taken indaily life. Google Street View is a feature service of Google Maps which provides360degreepanoramic view of the street to the users. First, we extract latitude and longitude information fromthe input images, locate the corresponding position in Google street view, then match the gainedStreet View with the original image by using TCM algorithm, finally its authenticity of EXIFinformation of the original image can be determined. Experiments proved our method is feasible,simple, convenient and efficient.
