Research On Infinispan Cache Technology Applied In The IPTV Authentication And Authorization System

With the widely accepted convergence of three networks, namely telecom,broadcast and Internet, and the rapid development of the Internet Protocol Tele-Vision(IPTV) business, the subscribers of accessing IPTV are increasing sharply every day.The IPTV Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) module is one of themodules in the IPTV system, and it is mainly responsible for the authentication of theIPTV users. As the number of subscribers accessing IPTV system goes up, theperformance of the AAA system goes down, resulting in the subscribers’dissatisfactions. In order to solve this problem, the Infinispan distributed cachetechnology is exploited and used in the AAA cluster system.The research of Infinispan cache technology and its application in AAA systemis an applicative research of distributed cache technology in IPTV area, and cloudcomputing technology in the Internet of Things field as well, so it is of greatsignification in the real life. The main research works presented in this thesis are asfollows：(1) A study on the Infinispan cache technology and its application to the AAAsystem mainly by configuring is carried out.(2) To deal with the problems, such as the control nodes cannot recoverautomatically after the recovery of network disconnection, which exist in IPTVauthentication system cluster after using Infinispan cache technology, differentsolutions are proposed, analyzed and realized.(3) The AAA cluster environment is built up step by step. A virtual machine isinstalled firstly, and a server in Linux environment is built upon the virtual machine.The second step is installing required software in this server and doing relatedconfigurations. The server is cloned to get more such kind of servers. The last step isconfiguring the whole AAA system cluster environment.(4) The performance testing tool LoadRunner is used to test the performance ofthe whole AAA system cluster environment. The results of the performance test showthat the AAA system has been improved a lot by solving the problem of using Infinispan cache technology and can satisfy the requirements.The thesis made the AAA system perfermance better by the completion of thework.
