Pipeline network as a major transportation method for natural gas is very complicated.Natural Gas Pipeline Transportation Management Information System (NGPTMIS) isdesigned to supervise the operational and security conditions of the pipeline and meteringstation. The disadvantages of the traditional NGPTMIS are present in many aspects, such asreal-time and normative, seriously affecting the enterprise’s management level andefficiency. Therefore, designing an NGPTMIS with characteristics of high unified andsecurity has a signification to realize the real-time monitoring and management of naturalgas transportation at theoretical and practical significance.According to the design principles associated to software development, customerrequirements and requirements analysis, tremendous development background of embeddedtechnology, virtual instrument technology, database technology, GIS technology and dataencryption technology, this work proposed a solutions of NGPTMIS. The provided systemis a high integration of the Storage System for Structured Data (SSSD) for pipelinetransportation, metering station, Real-time Monitoring and Data Acquisition, DatabaseEncryption, Tile Map Technology of WebGIS.The main works of this thesis can be categories into the customer requirement analysis,system requirements analysis, technical development analysis, general design and functionmodule.(1) On the basis of the business and functional requirements, it defined a systemdevelopment pattern. According to the system of deployment, the whole system can bedivided into two subsystems: real-time data monitoring system and transportationinformation management system.(2) By employed the LabVIEW development environment and WebGIS technology, aNGPTMIS is designed and developed to achieve the following functions: flowmeasurement, remote communication, data encryption, report forms system, tiles WebGIS.(3) The actual deployment of the system is carried out in the practical system. Theperformance is analyzed. The testament results illustrate a high stability of the proposed NGPTMIS which hashigh measurement accuracy, meets real-time requirement, operates conveniently andcommunicates with security.
