Design And Implementation Of Emotional Data Capture And Analysis System For Campus BBS

With the development of the Internet, social networking platform isbecoming a very popular communicating platform in which people canpublish their opinions to each other. The research of analysis of publicopinion based on social network becomes a hotpot. However, few of theseresearches are based on campus BBS forums. On the other hand, theinformation of students’ emotional tendency is very useful and important tothe managers of colleges and universities.Based on the above situation, and combining with the feature ofcampus BBS forum that the users are almost students, we put forward aresearch to get the students’ emotional tendency based on campus BBSforum.The work of this project includes:1. Design and implement a web crawler according to the structure ofcampus BBS forum. And use it to efficiently fetch the contents of postsand comments, and to extract the text content of them.2. Based on the ICTCLAS segmentation software, implement afunction module to analyze the text contents. For each post or comment,segment their text into individual words and then use emotion dictionariesand judging method to judge the emotional tendency (positive, negative, orneutral) of each text.At last, choose one campus BBS forum to experiment the system. Inexperiment, we totally analyze93922posts and comments which aredistributed in114areas within the time period between August30th andNovember15th. And we get a wave curve of emotional tendency ofstudents. The result shows that: compared with the objective truth, the system is practicable.
