Research Of Figure Painting Aesthetic Based On Eye-tracker

Psychological studies have shown that almost all the information human acceptis owing to the visual system.Figure artists seemingly know it very well.They expresstheir own thought via the various art skills and catch the audiences’attention as well，and it brings them different aesthetic experience.As such an effective pattern forvisual psychology study，the research of eye movement’s data has been applied inmany fields.It hardly has a kind of research which aims at works of art in aestheticsarea.It is still up for discuss.Therefore，this article will research the aesthetic featuresfor figure preliminary via the eye movement experience.One of famous artist Suzuki Harunobu’s works will be chosen as theexperimental material in this article.We motivate some details in this picture withPhotoShop based on the original one.And then we get7figure pictures for contrasttest.We delimit some major area as area of interest (AOI)，and record the actual testdata of fixation duration time，fixation count and fixation heap-map which are thethree index of eye movement.Combine with the semantic differential method and getthe quantized data of aesthetic preference.Analyze the two sets of data，we can cometo conclusion as follows：1. The gaze pattern of aesthetic process for the figure complies with some commonrules.But there exist some differences among these different testers.This kind ofdifferences should be related to the testers’ prior knowledge，and it depends onwhich one they observe first，the original one or the motivate one.2. It will affect testers’ aesthetic preference that the intuitive judgment for suchrelations among these characters in the figure pictures.3. The testers’ judgment about the relations among those characters in the figurepictures determines their aesthetic preference.Finally，we analyze the data of both eye movement and aesthetic preference.Wefind significant correlation between them.It proves that both of them have theconsistency before.Our research will cross the chasm between science and art，and itwill react to the research about figure and other similar works of art sometimes.
