Autonomous mobile robot is a mobile robot with some intelligent behavior and itis also an integrated system. It is a multi-disciplinary including artificial intelligence, robotics environmental awareness, dynamic decision-making capacity, dynamicprogramming, behavior control, ability to execute learning, automatic control andmechatronics. it is developing rapidly. Compared with the conventional robot, it hasthe ability that mimicking the human brain, sensing the environment, learning to useprior knowledge to make their own decisions of next behavior. Compare humans, autonomous mobile robot has many advantages in life, industrial, military, explorationand other fields. In this paper, I use autonomous mobile robots for the study and do the followingresearch work for based on infrared, sonar sensor robot autonomous movement, dothe following research work: Outlines the history and characteristics of the mobilerobot; Introduced the AS-RE mobile robot platform in a systematic andcomprehensive way; Studied the infrared, sonar sensors which on the AS-RE robot.Describes the working principle and do the experimental analysis for accuracy, error.Discussed the possibility of the two sensors used in the test environment and study forthe combination of the two sensors and the use of multi-sensor data fusion; Introducedthe basic situation of autonomous mobile robots. This article has invented a robotautonomous movement methods based on infrared, sonar sensors and realized therobot function of moving from the starting position to the destination position. Thismethod used in a variety of conditions, including different values of K, the value ofthe properties of different weights which assigned manually, different sensor fusionand so on. For these cases, this article conducted several experiments and analysis.
