Reversible data hidingin encrypted domain is a technique which can hide data inencrypted multimedias with a reversible manner. This technique is different from thetraditional one. It owns the advantages of both encryption and reversible data hidingand plays an important role in information security field because of its superiorperformance. This thesisis about reversible data hiding in encrypted domain.Firstly, we focuson the theory of reversible data hiding in encrypted domain. Inthis section, the research background, the application areas and the researchstatusareintroduced. Additionally, since encryption and data hiding, especially reversible datahiding, are closely associated withreversible data hiding in encrypted domain, we alsogive the overview, several typical algorithms’ analysis and comparisonaboutthemhere.Secondly, wediscuss the algorithm of reversible data hiding in encrypteddomainand take digital imagesfor testing. In this part, we build the common model ofreversible data hiding in encrypted domain. A new algorithm of reversible data hidingin encrypted imagebased on blocks classificationis proposed through the analysis ofdrawbacks of two classical algorithms. For the purpose of reducing the error rate ofdata extraction and image recovery, the correlation of the Most Signification Bits oforiginal image is computed for deciding the number of Least Signification Bits to beflipped. Experimental results showthat theperformance of the proposed schemeismore excellent, due to it can improve the error rateeffectively and guarantee thesecurity of the carrier’ plaintext andthe Peak Signal to Noise Ratio of the decryptedcarrierby comparing the two existing states of the art works. Finally, we make some conclusions for our proposed algorithm, describe somefurther improvements, point out the direction of next research work and look forwardto the future for reversible data hiding in encrypted domain.
