In the large scale outdoor scene, real-time rendering technology is a research hotspot in the Computer Graphics. Virtual reality, Geographical information system, Flight training,3D games and many other fields have been widely applied.Aiming at the characteristic of large scale outdoor scenes and the real-time rendering technology research, this article is based on the advanced computer graphics theory achievements and discusses terrrain rendering and objects visibility judgment in the ourdoor scene. Main work includes:1. Introduce outdoor scene terrain rendering methods, Based on QuadTree and Geomipmapping about terrain simplification algorithm, describe the terrain block management and level of details theories and related implementation, and put forward a new way of terrain rendering in the outdoor scene.2. Explains objects visibility problem in the complex scene and culling objects technology, space division algorithm which be applied in the actual development.3. Thinking the characteristics of large-scale outdoor scenes and modern graphics hardware computing power, design a feasible scheme for large-scale outdoor scene real-time rendering:using tile to manager terrain data and using frustrum scanning to judge objects visibility. In detail explains the system process about theories and implementation.4. Finally, under the scheme, system performance is tested and confirms the effectiveness of the scheme in the large outdoor scene. It can meet the project requirement.Finally display this paper summary and outlook, and propose the further research content in this field.
