The radar network is to properly deploy several radars of different systems, platforms, frequencies and polarizing ways. It can collect and transfer the netlike information of all theradars in the network. It can achieve the main functions of radars, like coordinated attack, unitary exploration, region counterwork and intelligence sharing. It is also able to competeagainst invisible planes, electronic interference, anti-radiation missiles and low/super lowaltitude penetration. Therefore, the advantages of radar network are widely recognized by themilitary experts.Optimal employment is the main link in the radar network, which has to take variousfactors into consideration in the actual combat environment. It uses the mathematic ways toconduct quantified analysis and builds the related mathematic models. Then it chooses properalgorithm to get the maximum of the target function in terms of the limited condition. To getthe optimal deployment project in the shortest time and make the radar deployment morescientific and accurate is an important subject in the present research. To begin with, this thesis makes a conclusion about the principles of the optimaldeployment of the radar network. It explores the optimal deployment programs from severalaspects, such as the probability of target detection, the coverage of responsibility area, thecoverage of airspace overlapping, the interference of similar frequency, utilization ofresources and the coverage of key goals. Then, based on the comprehensive quantification of the principles of the optimaldeployment of the radar network, it establishes and discusses three rational mathematicalmodels. They are the mathematical models based on joint exploring frequency, airspacecovering redundancy and actual combat environment respectively. Among them, the first twomathematical models just take the simple battlefield factors into account. They only discussone of the aspects of the optimal deployment of the radar network in the ideal environment, and offer the references for the third mathematical model. While the third one is an optimalnetwork model set up on the basis of comprehensively considering the “Four Counterwork”abilities, which uses multiple performance indictors to reveal the requirements of the optimaldeployment of the radar network in modern battlefield environment.Next, on account of these three different mathematical models, and combining theirperformance parameters and constraints, the thesis deduces the corresponding objectivefunctions, uses the optimal algorithm to get the maximum solution and aims at receiving theoptimal deployment project. The Monte Carlo Method is applied to solve the objectivefunctions in the mathematical model of optimal deployment of the radar network based onjoint exploring frequency; the Genetic Algorithm is used in the second mathematical model and Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm in the third one. In accordance with thesimulation results, it analyzes the obtained data, test whether the optimal algorithms caneffectively guide the search of optimal solutions and narrow the space, and finally improvethe efficiency of optimal deployment of the radar network. The last part is the summary of the thesis and it also comes up with some prospects forthe next step work.
