Now in many fields of society, such as illegal immigrants, sportsgames, forensic and criminal investigation, lacking and forging of humanreal age brings a lot of unnecessary trouble. Existing age detection methodsalways have their respective application value, and have a more or lesslimitation. Therefore, it is very important to develop a simple, rapid,accurate, wide age span method to detect human age objectively.Research designs a skin image acquisition system and skinimage-processing system by connecting with the technology of digitalimage feature recognition and extraction, which is based on the theory ofdistinctive and phasic nature in the contour and texture change of humanskin surface against ages. According to researching and analyzing the skinsurface texture image, found that it not only gets the relationship betweenthe parameter of the average area of the skin texture ridges and human age,but also provides a theoretical reference method to evaluate skin agingobjectively.Research investigation individuals came from indoor staffs in Chongqing area (including students, teachers, office staff, etc.), which hadno history of skin disease.2800picture samples (calculate the average valueof20pictures of the left and right hands from each case) of140individualcases (their average age is55years and body mass index (BMI) are within19-24) of the age from20to90are extracted as experiment objects. Amongthem, male and female ratio is1:1, and the skin image samples from thecorresponding size of left and right arm is1:1, the specific method is asfollowing:First of all, acquiring the skin texture image of human forearm side (inthe location of half of the elbow and the wrist) through the designedacquisition system; Secondly, processing the skin image through thedesigned skin-processing system; Then, the parameter of average area of theskin texture ridges is extracted from the processed image; Finally, analyzingthe relationship between the average area of the skin texture ridges andhuman age, at the same time, drawing the three fitting curve according tothe relationship between the average area of the skin texture ridges andhuman age, thus, the parametric changes are showed more visually.Adopting our designed image acquisition system and image processingsystem, not only saves a lot of time and cost, but also enhances the effect ofskin texture image, at the same time, it provides a great convenience forsubsequent research of the relationship between skin texture and humanage. The experimental results show that:(1) For the same individual, the average area of the skin texture ridgeswas no significant difference between left and right arm correspondinglocation.(2) The average area of the skin texture ridges has closely correlationwith human age no matter for male or female (the correlation coefficient rof male is0.897, and the correlation coefficient r of female is0.922), and theaverage area of the skin texture ridges increase with the age. It growsslowly before the age of60, and grows quickly after the age of60.(3) According to researching the relationship between the skin textureridges and age for male and female, the regression curve equations weregot respectively, which provide a reference for age detection.
