Now most of the new generation of mobile satellite communication system is supported by GMR-13G family of standards. The series of standards were released by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), which is a geostationary satellite mobile communication air interface technical specification which can keep interconnection with3G core network on the ground. It was evolved from GMR-1Communication System based on GSM standard. GMR-13G system can provide3G mobile communication businesses based on geostationary satellite to the earth. And the key problem needs to be sloved in the paper is how to gurantee control signals and business data in GMR system can be transmitted effectively and reliably. In this thesis, the implementation of transimissive data processing function will be attached to the entire system GMR-13G protocol stack software.Based on RLC/MAC layer protocol of GMR-13G radio access network, the paper has carried out a detailed analysis and research, completed the design and implementation of transmissive data processing in GMR-13G communication system. And RLC sub-layer provides three transfer modes:TM (Transparent Mode), AM (Acknowledge Mode), UM (Un-Acknowledge Mode). Among them, AM is the most complex mode. So, the implementation of AM as the main body will be introduced in this paper. At first, it’s about a detailed introduction of AM module and data transfer processing design. Second, it’s the key to realize three major processing functions: segmentation of upper layer SDUs into RLC data units, Selective retransmission and Re-assembly of upper layer SDUs from RLC data units. Finally, through build simulation testing environment in real-time multitasking operating system VxWorks platforms, this paper completed the data processing functional verification.Considering the difficulty of the project and implementation aspects of the actual demand, the overall design and implementation scheme of three transfer modes about transmissive data processing have conformed to the requirement of the application in GMR-13G communication system. By the terminal authentication, transmissive data processing functions have been successfully achieved.
