The complex high-dimensional image and video data are widely used in securitymonitoring, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence and other fields. Withthe increasing amount of data, traditional computer vision image analysis which isbased on pixel are showing some problems in terms of computational complexity, thecomputational cost increases exponentially. Different from the traditional computervision for image and video analysis methods, visual information processing systemcan effectively extract the effective features of massive images and videos with itsunique mechanism only by a small number of neurons. This provides a new idea toform a fast and efficient video image processing method.In this thesis, we take the traditional images and video information processingproblem about target detection, tracking and analysis of abnormal behavior ofindividual as research subjects, around this goal to explore new visual calculationmodel and its application algorithms. It takes the statistical characteristics of naturalimage as entry point of the problem and searches the new analysis which is differentfrom computer image and video information processing combined with naturalimages sparse coding theory and model. This has important implications for theproblems of high computational complexity and video image analysis and processing.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)We analyzed the statistical properties of natural images, the visual systeminformation processing mechanism and its computational model. Then it is elaboratedthat visual calculation model based on sparse coding ICA, TICA and overcompleteset. This all provide a theoretical basis and algorithms support for solution of thetarget detection, tracking and analysis of abnormal behavior of individuals.(2) A visual calculation model and its specific application algorithm that basedon sparse overcomplete is proposed for the problem of traditional target detection andtracking. It solved the matter of tracking failure due to occlusion, scale change and soon during target moving process. Firstly, we adopted score matching method toextract the overcomplete set from natural images, and create target detection algorithm; And then, regional connectivity detection algorithm proposed for thatdetection results appear loophole caused by the background noise and disturbance;On the basis the above,we proposed target tracking algorithm further, and designedmulti-class experiments to verify the validity of the model and algorithms.(3)On the basis of these studies, the corresponding visual calculation model andits specific algorithm is proposed for a higher level vision tasks-analysis of abnormalbehavior of individual. Firstly, based on sparse coding theory, we adopted space-timeblock with spatial and temporal characteristics to training of the dictionary; And inorder to adapt to the changes of complex environment in video, we proposed adictionary update algorithm; Then we detected space-time block the video whethercan be sparse reconstructed based on dictionary and its error, found abnormalbehavior of individuals.
