In recent years, with the rapidly development of Wireless Sensor Network technology, because of its advantages of low cost, low power consumption and easy network, so it has been widely used.In WSN, large numbers of sensor nodes distributed in the monitoring environment, the collected data are uploaded to the host computer for the further analysis and process, the collected information only with its position can makes sense, so the position information of nodes is very important. Node location technology is the key technology of WSN, it plays a important role in the effectiveness and accuracy of the network information, how to achieve high precision and accuracy location in low cost and low power consumption has become an important issue in WSN, also it is an urgent problem need to be solved.This paper analyzes the typical location algorithms of WSN and points out the existing problems. This paper puts forward improved location algorithm and carries out simulation analysis, designs the hardware of location system based on ZigBee technology, also verifies Positioning effect by the location test.Firstly, there are a lot of location algorithms, but existing problems such as high hardware requirements, the location error is too large, complex computation, communication overhead and scalability is poor. In view of this situation, this paper provide improved voronoi diagrams location algorithm based on depth research on the location algorithms, this location algorithms divided into two parts, selection of the reference and area location. Firstly, selecting the placement of reference nodes and the best calculation unit by RSSI range based. The secondly, using the method of weighted Voronoi diagram to error correction because of RSSI range based, then calculating the estimated position of the unknown nodes. The results show that this algorithm can effectively reduce the location error by simulation analyse, it has many advantages over other location algorithms.Secondly, the paper designs a wireless location system aiming at the location algorithms, using the characteristics and advantages of ZigBee technology build nodes hardware, and design location nodes module circuit based on CC2530chip including the power supply module. In addition, the software design of location system using IAR development environment and Z-Stack protocol stack to program the CC2530 nodes, also programming the nodes work process and data communication process.Finally, after verified the communication between nodes and host computer including among the nodes is normal by setting UART serial communication test and wireless transmission test of node data,then test the location effect and design the host computer monitoring interface for displaying location results in real time. After the verification of location results, it shows that the location algorithm could effectively reduce the localization error.
