Optimizing the network topology can make the interconnection network be provided with good symmetry, universality, extensibility, recursive nature, fault-tolerance and so on. The universality can be measured by the embedding ability of the network. Locally twisted cube is a very important variant of hypercube network structure. Firstly, this paper excavated that the locally twisted cube network has a strong universality through study, and then analyses the deficiency of the locally twisted cube network structure, which builds up the two kinds of optimized new interconnection network structure with further study. This paper specific content is as follows:1. According to the structural characteristics of locally twisted cube network and theory of embedding, it has been analysis and proven that binary tree, exchange of hypercube and the hypercube can be embedded into the locally twisted cube, and all the parameters of the embedded solution is optimal.2. In this paper, it has been considered that there are upgrade defects in the locally twisted cube. This paper first constructed a locally twisted cube ring interconnection network which is combined with excellent characteristics such as simple structure and convenient routing. By discussion about its basic nature, it has been proven that the locally twisted cube ring interconnection network is not only easy in upgrade but also a good network which is inherited excellent features of the locally twisted cube network.3. For the sake of improving the communication efficiency and reducing application cost of interconnection network, it is constructed that a new hierarchical interconnection network with good fault tolerance which is extended locally twisted cube network through absorbing the structural theory of the existing hierarchical structure network. Secondly, this paper studied its basic nature, compared the performance of network with other similar network structure, and proved the superiority of its topology structure.
