In recent years, wind energy has been rapidly developed in China because of the concern of renewable energy. As the most widely uesed type, doubly-fed wind turbine has very complex oprating condition.In several kind of incidents,fire disastar accounts for a large proportion,which brings huge economic losses.A brand new doubly-fed offshore wind turbine based Automatic Extinguishing Robot (AER) was designed in this article. AER has some advanced and innovative. It combines robot with wind turbine to achieve portion extinguishing. Compared with original full annihilation fire protection, AER has better application potential. By analyzing the characteristics of the cabin, with two-dimensional plan of the sensor location coordinates to achieve the fire source location positioning. PLC is chosen as the master to coordinate the robot sensor signal acquisition, motor sports, fire identification, fire movement and other functions. It was verified that meets performance requirements.Using digital image progress to measure specific location of fire damage, it can help guiding robot movement.Select the same type of master to wind turbine control system, in order to combine AER and main control system closel-y. AER is designed with self-test function to reduce the false alarm caused by the robot device failure. When the AER is running without a fire alarm, it could be used as a monitor for usual maintaining, which can reduce manual maintain cost.This article is to explore new technologies for wind power automatic extinguishing technology. The overall design of AER stating in this article is reasonable function designed, well hardware structure compacting, clear logic of AER system design paln,with good application prospects.
