In traditional medical service, because patients have to go to the hospital, evenconsulting a minor problem, one needs to must line up and register, resulting in a greatwaste of human power and physical resources. However, with the continuousdevelopments of science and technology, fiber-based communications are becomingcommon. This makes possible and feasible that telemedicine can be implemented by anonline face-to-face way. Online face-to-face medical consultation can reduce the spatialdistance between patients and doctors. It not only allows doctors to understand patientsmore timely but also patients also can easily ask questions to the doctor.First, this thesis formulates the concept of online face-to-face inquires, as well asthe-state-of-the-art face-to-face medical service. After a lot of information foundonface-to-face medical serive, we founf that the. Meanwhile, with the support of the mediarichness theory, we expound the necessity of introducing "face-to-face" in the networkof medical consultation, and analyze the needs of real-time audio and video interactionbetween doctors and patients in the network consultation.Second, this research reports the history and development of the necessarytechnology of video conferencing systems. The existing software packages with onlineaudio and video interactive features are analyzed and the their applicability to networkmedical advice and inadequacies are studied.Finally, we employ the current network already existing in several open sourcesoftware packages, and built a completely free face-to-face medical advice onlineplatform that improves video quality and other features of the Alto do some analysis.Core architecture of the platform is open source software by Apache OpenMeetings, andthe secondary development is admissible to meet the needs of the online face-to-facemedical consultation.
