It is predicted that the Internet of Things will be quiet widely used in daily life, with hundreds of billions MTC devices. In3GPP, it is also known as MTC (MachineType Communication). Different from H2H (Human to Human) Communication, largenumbers of devices, small data transmission, low mobility, etc are special features ofMTC/M2M. So MTC/M2M is widely used in meter reading, vehicle scheduling, monitoring, intellegent home, etc.Nowadays, global researchers have been dedicated in MTC. However it is stillhard to meet the complex needs of MTC. Signaling congestion is one of the keyproblems, caused by simultaneous access or periodic data. This problem will havehuge impact on mobile network. Especially in the authentication process, signalingoverload will have a strong infect on HSS/AuC. It will result in not only networkcongestion, but also network security risks. Therefore, signaling congestion andoverload control has become an important part of MTC communication research. In this paper, a latest proposed congestion control mechanism-Bulk SignalingHandling will be proposed and analyzed in detail. Improve the tracking area updateprocess with Bulk Signaling Handling mechanism. Especially give a detailed analyzefor the improved aggregated signaling, which illustrates the realizability of BulkSignaling Handling mechanism.Further, considering the most important part of the tracking area update procedure-AKA authentication. When a group of MTC devices simultaneously initiate theauthentication request, the AKA procedure will repeat for many times, which puts agreat pressure on HSS/AuC and leads to signaling congestion easily. In this paper, animproved AKA authentication scheme-Bulk-based Group AKA (BGAKA) will beproposed. It combines the group shared key GAK and signaling aggregationmechanism together, achieving signaling control. The simulation and analyzation infeasibility and reliability is also proposed. The results indicates that the bulk signalinghandling mechanism is effective and safe enough to alleviate the signaling congestion, and guarantee the communication quality.
