Named data network (NDN), which aims to replace current host-centric IParchitecture with an information-centric one and overcome the address depletion andimprove the communication performance of network, has been gaining impetus inrecent years. In NDN, a user can get the copy of data from the nearest terminal’s cache.Although this way can avoid getting the required information from the data source, thisend-to-end communication mode will bring message reliability problem. In this paper,to address this security issue, we propose two light-weight and secure message batchverification mechanisms: batch verification mechanism based on the certificate andbatch verification mechanism based on the certificateless public key cryptographic. The proposed mechanisms can ensure the authenticity and integrity of named dataand prevent message tampering and forgery through verifying each data stored in caches. The verification mechanism based on the certificate is combined with short signaturesand batch verification technology, which allows a user to verify multiple received datapackets at the same time such that the total verification time can be dramaticallyreduced. The security and efficient analysis is also put forward. The second verificationmechanism is based on the certificateless public key cryptographic, combined withshort signatures and batch verification technology, which can also solve the problem offast certification in named data network. The security and performance analysis showthat the second mechanism is safe and effective.
