Teaching, from ancient times to the present is the most important part in education and teaching, in twenty-first Century is also no exception. In today’s colleges and universities, the student is the main part of teaching activity, but also is the object of education; to formulate the teaching contents and the teaching method, is normally provided by the various teaching group of professional colleges to develop; and all the teaching time and teaching place arrangement, is made by general the school educational administration department. In recent years, not only the number of students increases unceasingly, but the major is also increasing, in addition every professional open courses are constantly changing, all of these make this work more and more difficult. The scheduling problem is a NP complete problem, is the problem of optimization of multi project, have no specific objective function, so it is difficult to accomplish. Course timetabling is experienced three phase:manual course scheduling, Excel Software Course Scheduling and the use of course scheduling system arrangement. For course scheduling system, domestic and foreign have different levels of research, our country compared with overseas late for about30years. In China, many famous universities have the course scheduling system of its own, but the course scheduling system almost only for teaching situation of themselves, so they have poor portability, research on the course scheduling system is still very necessary. This paper analyses and research on course scheduling system from two aspects of theory and practice:in theory, analyzed the current situation of university course scheduling, system needs analysis, and the genetic algorithm analysis. In practice carried out on the implementation, the system debugging and other aspects of the description. Both theories and practice are explained as clear as possible, and also discuss the new ideas of some new ideas.
