As the rapid development of3D virtual-reality technology,3D engine is playing a critical role in the field of3D show. People’s demands can’t be satisfied merely by the traditional way of interaction, such as keyboard and mouse, since computers’ being increasingly popular and deeply applied in their daily life. A more intelligent and humane interaction style is urgently needed. With the virtual interaction technology, users can enter a virtual environment through computer so as to operate objects in the system and interact with virtual display. As a result, the visiting is changed from a static way into a dynamic multi-sensory interactive way. Thus,3D display is advanced to a new stage, for virtual interaction can break the limits of time and space in traditional show and improve the effect and efficiency of display effectively. In order to bring a more intuitive and realistic feeling, this paper proposes a method of3D interactional show based on gesture. The method is put forward on the basis of the theory used to extract the data of depth image and skeleton of human body by kinect. Combining the kinect with Unity3D, users can interact with the system for3D display. The major contents of this paper include follows.(1) Extracting the depth image and skeleton joints is achieved successfully in this design. And this paper proposes a method to smooth the movement of the skeleton joints.(2)A set of human gesture is defined, and the paper proposes an algorithm for gesture recognition based on depth image and skeleton joints.(3)This paper designs a system for3D display based on gesture recognition and realizes the real-time drive of the system.
