Analysis Of Image And Truth In The Network Era

With the rapid development of the network, whether it is traditional media or newmedia, have stressed the spread of visualization today. Image information is no longer theaccessory of word, which together with the word, has become an important transmissionway of media. Image and word together constitute the communication media as a whole.Since ‘image tells truth’ was popular on the web in2009, the image has accounted for anincreasing proportion in the dissemination of information and have affected people’s livesprofoundly. Everyone can take advantage of network to communicate image today. The‘image tells truth’ becomes deviation and causes serious social consequences. Therefore,the study of the ‘image tells truth’ has a very large practical significance for building ahealthy and orderly network transmission environment.This paper, based on the point of image, combined with the related knowledge ofcommunication and journalism, points out that the ‘image may not tell truth’ has a lot ofexistence by analyzing the ‘image tells truth’. Using case studies, induction analysismethod, it analyzes the ‘image may not tell truth’ problem in the network imagetransmission comprehensively. Firstly, it mainly explains reasons of the ‘image may nottell truth’ in the network era from two respectively aspects which are image productionand image transmission. It is an important section of this article. Then it analyzes effectsof the ‘image may not tell truth’ in the network era. Finally, it proposes that we shouldtreat the image and the truth in the network era correctly. We can not ignore the effect ofthe image because the image is still an important means of transmitting information andexploring truth. And we can not rely too much on the image because the image may nottell the truth. At the end, it shows some concrete measures of preventing false networkimage in order to promote the development of network image. Hope to attract moreattention and research more through this topic.
