Network protocol is the key part to the normal operation of the computer network.With the rapid development and spread of the high-bandwidth, high concurrent andhigh-speed WAN fiber optic network, the traditional transmission control protocol has beenunable to meet the growing demand for massive data transmission. UDT is one of the TCPimproving protocols, which is based on UDP protocol and has reliability and congestioncontrol added. The goal of UDT is to overcome the problem of efficiency and fairness ofTCP and be suitable for high-bandwidth WAN data-intensive applications.This article researches the implementation mechanism of UDT and its reliability andcongestion control algorithm, this article analyzes how the UDT protocol could overcomethe limitations of TCP in high-speed WAN environment under the premise of efficient andstable transmission. Then, based on the general idea of the software engineeringdevelopment, by using UDT library, designs and implements a lightweight web filestransfer application, which could be used to simply and efficiently achieve the needs ofremote file transfer. This program can run smoothly in a real network environment. Finally,through a series of the performance evaluation tools, the article compares the performanceof the file transfer application with TCP and the original UDT, achieved satisfactory re-sults. |
