Research And Implementation Of Gateway Construction Of Hangzhou Unicom

Faced with the serious challenge of the new Internet technology and mobile services in substitution, the communications industry’s fixed-line business began to decline. The major operators have begun to promote the integration of fixed and mobile networks business to alleviate the decline of fixed line voice services. After the former China Unicom and China Netcom merged to form the new China Unicom, the fixed network and mobile network both have gateway equipment. Complex traffic routing between fixed and mobile networks cannot satisfy the fixed-mobile integration business development. The original network gateway due to old equipment models, cannot be smoothly upgraded to softswitch architecture. Better to provide fixed and mobile integration business, and the upgrade of the network evolution and IP transformation, Hangzhou branch of China Unicom need to build a new pair of integrated gateway urgently to support the integration of business.The gateway construction project is large in scale and covers a wide range. The design is rigorous, fully demonstrated. In the process of implementation, the author solves a series of problems through in-depth study, making project implemented smoothly.The new integrated gateway gets through the mobile network and fixed network interconnection. It has greatly promoted the efficiency of long-distance trunk utilization. The integration gateway provides a unified channel between Hangzhou Unicom and other operators and the unification of the point of settlement. The integration gateway simplifies the interconnection structure and improves the safety of the interconnection. Integrated gateway supports better integration of fixed and mobile networks business, such as integrated virtual private network service. Softswitch architecture of the new gateway supports the network evolution and lays a solid foundation for all-IP based core network. The whole project provides a valuable experience for the future work.
