People have proposed the increasing demanding of wireless communications in thecontext of the rapid development of wireless communications. Multi-fading can limit thequality of wireless communications. Space diversity technology can solve this problem.MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technique which can make use of multi-pathtransmission to increase the capacity and spectral efficiencies of the system is a typicalspace diversity technology. However, it meets a great problem in real system because ofthe size and power of the mobile device. Cooperative communication as a new way ofspace diversity technology solves the problem of MIMO. The basic idea of cooperativecommunication is that mobile device can share each other’s antenna to produce a virtualMIMO system. The major efforts of this thesis are focused on the duplex mode in cooperativecommunication. First of all, the system model and work principles of cooperativecommunication are introduced. Secondly, this thesis deeply researches and compares thefull-duplex mode and half-duplex mode in fading channel. And then, the systemperformance of the full-duplex relay (FDR) and the half-duplex relay (HDR) in a tow-hoprelay system are researched, and compared with direct transfer mode. Research covers theprinciples, spectral efficiencies, outage probability, advantages and disadvantages ofdifferent duplex. Finally, On the basis of the performance of FDR and HDR, we propose ahybrid duplex mode in cooperative communication, which is a hybrid of full duplex andhalf duplex. We analyze and calculate the theoretical expression of the outage probabilityin DF. We compare the system performance between the model with a SD link and without, and we propose the way with SD link is better. Via the computer simulation, we found thatthe hybrid duplex in this paper have a lower outage probability and a better system performance. We also found that more relays better.
