Since1980s, digital image processing technology has made a great development,and has been applied in every aspect of our lives. From the view of application’s point,digital image processing technology plays an important role in satellite detection,medical imaging and so on. Because of the importance and scalability of imageprocessing technology, the requirement for the usage in embedded system also growsgreatly.As a product of TI Company, DaVinci technology is dedicated to the applicationof video processing and has received widespread attention. DaVinci technology hasunique dual-core architecture; ARM and DSP kernel has the ability to processinformation independently. ARM kernel runs the Monta Vista Linux operating systemand the system drives the hardware device; DSP kernel runs image-processingalgorithms. The hardware structure of the multilayer cache ensures the processingeffect of the image. VPSS subsystem ensures the image processing speed and effect.With the development of DaVinci technology, this technology will be applied tovarious aspects of image processing, such as video surveillance, medical imaging,television set-top boxes, and so on. This technology will play an important role insolving many practical and broad prospects.When hardware conditions are limited for the requirement of image resolution,super-resolution image reconstruction technology arises. In order to obtainhigh-resolution image, super-resolution image reconstruction technology useslow-resolution images to reconstruct high-resolution image to complete the purpose ofimproving the resolution of the image. Super-resolution reconstruction technologybases on single image or series of images. Although single image reconstructionalgorithm has poor effect, the algorithm has a great prospect in the field of real-timeprocessing. Most reconstruction algorithms are based on series of images and thereconstruction effect is good. This system will transplant the super-resolutionreconstruction algorithm to DaVinci system. In order to enhance the purpose of imageresolution without any increase in cost of camera or image acquisition chip processingcapacity, super-resolution image reconstruction system is designed and builds thefoundation for the further application in the field of engineering.At first, this author introduces the hardware structure of DaVinci dual-coresystem and the process of the software development. Then, the author introduces the DaVinci chip, which embedded Linux operating system running on and the hardwareon the board. Finally, boot procedure of OS, ARM and DSP development process areintroduced.
