With the development of augmented reality technology, there are increasingnumber of augmented reality applications and systems in various types. Either relyingon the newest hardware devices or the most advanced technical principles, for users,usability issues and user experience are always used for evaluating an augmented realitysystem. Therefore, in the first stage of designing, a designer needs to pay more attentionon the relationship between users and the augmented reality system. Informationconnects systems and users; users are the maker and the eternal receptor of information;systems play a role of transforming information. How to let the user input and receiptinformation naturally is the key to the success of system design.For this research topic, this paper discussed the improvement and innovation ofaugmented reality system, proposed the significance of multisensory interactive in anaugmented reality system from the users’ perspective. Firstly, the user access andtransfer information via senses, so the information processing principles of humansenses in the environment of augmented reality technology becomes the foundation ofthis research. Secondly, all the senses collaboratively participate in uses’ natural processof information dissemination, therefore, whether there is relation between differentsenses and influences users’ final perception become the important theoretical supportof studying multisensory interactive. Lastly, after studying the theory of multisensoryintegration, the inspiration of building multisensory interactive model in augmentedreality system was emerged: system assignments design, system information fusion, andthe final output feedback are the three aspects that jointly decide the information fusioneffects of users’ participation of multisensory interactive, which is the user experienceof the system.In order to verify the feasibility of the theoretical study, this paper designed amultisensory interactive augmented reality prototype, an interactive display system ofroses growing, and examined its usability considering the special usability testingmethods of augmented reality system. Meanwhile, the multisensory interactive effectsof this system are evaluated by a designed information fusion effects scale formeasuring the user experience of that system. In addition, for accomplishing theexperiment assignment, this paper designed a specific experimental data analysismethod for making experiment results represent the real situation of the systemaccurately, summarizing the value of the system’s availability, drawing the conclusionof this paper.To sum up, there are two parts of the value of the multisensory interactiveaugmented reality system’s availability: from the perspective of information dissemination, it reinforces the express of information and enriches the informationlevel; from the perspective of users’ subjective experience, it makes up the unnatural ofsingle sensory and enhances the users’ sensory pleasure.
