Nowadays mobile device is no longer synonymous with short messages andcalls. It provides people with other functions as well, such as playing games,browsing pictures, watching the videos and so on. It has become an integral part ofpeople’s daily life. And the mobile device which is developed on android operatingsystem has the largest market share in mobile devices market. Thus, the researchfor android mobile device applications has a large importance. At the same time,along with the rapid growth of wireless communication technology and with thevirtue of its extensive coverage, wireless, high transmission speed and smalltransmission power, WiFi has become the wireless signal with the most extensivecoverage, which makes it possible for mobile devices to go to Internet at anytimeand anywhere, and makes mobile devices more important in people’s life. Coupledwith the characteristics of multimedia, the demand for multimedia applications onmobile devices is on the increase day by day.The size of mobile devices is able to affect two aspects which are portable andmultimedia application service. The relation between two aspects is smaller sizeand more portable,on the contrary, bigger size and better services. Although thesize of mobile devices is much smaller than laptops, which making mobile devicesmore portable, it leads to some problems that is the multimedia application serviceis not so perfect. Imagining more than one person using one mobile device to viewvideos or pictures at the same time, they will be unable to attend to everyone at onetime.The paper has proposed the research on multimedia collaboration display forandroid mobile devices to solve the problem which is mentioned above anddevelopped it with the android operating system packages and Java language in theEclipse Integrated Development Platform. The research is using the big splicingscreen which is made of multiple mobile devices to give multimedia service. Toachieve splicing screen which is made of multiple devices, positioning devices forthe system is a critical technology. The paper has posted the mobile devicespositioned gesture and the algorithm of positioning devices and the correspondingillustration to both of them. The system has used positioned gesture and positionedalgorithm which are mentioned above to achieve the splicing screen displayfunction and run in accordance with the development process which is designed inthe paper.In this paper the process of putting the multimedia collaboration system intopractice has used WiFi to transmit wireless signals, adopted network transmission protocols (TCP and UDP) and the user’s specific gestures to make a LAN which ismade up of one server and multiple clients which are close to each other in thesame plane. The server is the leader to the system which is able to act in responseto the user’s related operations and control the whole system. Finally the paper hasdeveloped an application which is able to show the pictures and videos by splicingscreen or alone screen. The main function of the system also includes the switchingbetween mosaic display mode and alone display mode, the exchange betweenpicture service and video service, quickly switch the pictures on one device and thesystem can simultaneously display, and so on. The article has a detailed design anddescription to the realization of all the features of this system, and has given thecorresponding illustration.
