Most real-world networks have some features of complex network, such associal networks, Internet, transportation networks, neural networks, proteinnetworks. Complex networks are a hot research field in recent years. Theresearch on the robustness of interdependent complex networks also drawedmuch attention. To study the robustness of complex networks can be helpful forthe construction of complex networks with high robustness property.In the study, some basic concepts related to complex networks and somecomplex network models were introduced. And then the robustness of singlecomplex network of different network models under random attacks ordeliberated attacks also was introduced. The study also described the conceptsand the models of interdependent networks, and then talked about thedifferences of interdependent networks with single network. The study took thepersepective of the inter-edges between the networks with interdependentrelations to discuss the robustness of interdependent networks with differentinter-edges.In order to distinguish the characteristics of different types of inter-edgesin the study, the concepts of the uniformity of the inter-edges, theinter-clustering coefficient of the inter-edges and the inter assortativity of theinter-edges were proposed to describe different kinds of inter-edges. The mainmethod was to analysis one character by keeping other characters as same aspossible. Consider the clustering coefficient of the inter-edges, the theory andthe experiments both showed that the more the distribution of inter-edges isuneven, the worse the robustness of interdependent networks is. Theinterdependent networks with inter-edges under different inter clusteringcoefficient situation, they demonstrated almost the same robustness. Well, thehigher the inter assortativity of inter-edges is, the better the robustness ofinterdependent networks is. According to the uniformity and the interassortativity, a method to improve the robustness of interdependent networkswas proposed. Finally, a summary was made to analysis of the existing shortcomings ofthe study and the future work needed to do is highlighted. In the future work, thetheory model should be improved, and the robustness of complex networksconsidered the function of the networks needs to be studied.
