With the increasing level of manufacturing technology and electronic technology advances in technology, the dimensions of the FPTV become more and more larger and the volume of the FPTV gets smaller and smaller. Buffer protection for this kind of product relies mainly on the use of the buffer performance more superior materials and implementation of buffer structure more reasonable. The most convenient and practical methods are to use excellent buffer structure, but types of materials are limited and the material has been selected.Using "five step" or "six step method" to design the cushion structure at present, cushion sometimes can’t meet the need or buffer protection structure is "excellent",then needing to optimize the structure. In most cases, technical personnel do the structure optimization mainly relying on experience or reference to similar structure, defect unable to use the optimal distribution of material. In order to optimize the material distribution, this paper attempts to use topological methods to optimize the cushion structure.According to the research questions, this paper adopts the method of computer simulation and theoretical method is studied. First, aiming at a listed flat panel TV, the initial cushion structure is designed according to the kinetics of cushion packaging, material selection of EPS (Expanded polystyrene, referred to as EPS). Secondly, doing the drop analysis for the Flat TV package by using the computer simulation method, approximate calculation formula of collision force are obtained according to the drop analysis data and computer simulation is verified by different point of view the accuracy of the data. Then considering the cushion in the process of falling by a dynamic impact, in order to simplify the model, the dynamic load has carried on the equivalent static processing. Topology optimization of static finite element model is established by using the OptiStruct module belonging to HyperWorks software and cushion structure is optimized according to the result of the topology. Founding that the biggest impact acceleration of the flat-panel televisions impacted is less than the fragility by doing the drop analysis after the cushion structure optimized, cushion can meet the needs of the drop protection. It’s mechanical characteristics are large difference and the price is different when the density of EPS is not at the same time. Under the same cushion structure, studying that the different density of EPS cushion generate differences influence.Founding that the topological method can do well the structural optimization,Basing on a cushion of flat-panel televisions drop analysis and structure optimization research. Topological method provides a new attempt for packaging structure design and optimization and have a good reference and reference.
