The implementation of the coal reservoir exploration data management and simulationsystem, not only greatly improves the management efficiency of the data related to coalbedmethane (CBM) exploration, but also offers a scientific criterion to make development programfor CBM resource exploration.Coal reservoir exploration data management and simulation system consists of datamanagement and numerical simulation which are the main aspects of the system. The former ismainly to manage and analyses the huge amounts of data which is related to the process of coalreservoir exploration, including the attribute data and spatial data. The latter is mainly tocomplete numerical simulation of CBM exploration and display the results of the simulation.Based on the Oracle, a database named Coalbed Methane exploration Database (CMDB)and several attribute information tables were created. Temporary spatial database of coalreservoir was created and imported to the CMDB through the ArcSDE technology. Theconnection of spatial data and attribute data was Made to complete CMDB creation. Based onthe established mathematical model and the finite difference equations, the function library ofcoal reservoir numerical simulated algorithm was designed. Under the support of ADO.NET andArcSDE technology, using Visual Studio2010C#.net and ArcGIS Engine development tools, theauthor implemented the Coal Reservoir Exploration Data Management and Simulation System.The completed coal reservoir exploration data management and simulation system, mainlyincludes three functional modules, which are data management, numerical simulation and systemmaintenance. Data management mainly includes the graphic display, editing and query statisticsof spatial data and the input, editing, statistical analysis and output of attribute data; Numericalsimulation mainly includes the load parameters, the simulated calculation and the managementof simulated results; System maintenance mainly includes user management and databasemaintenance. Finally, using the actual data in the study area, this paper verified the numericalsimulated algorithm, and simulated results are in good performance.
