| With the development of the process of economic globalization, the modern logisticsindustry is showing steady growth, RFID technology has been widely used. Radio FrequencyIdentification (RFID) is one technology of Automatic Identification, which is used withalternative magnetic field to realize contactless communication. In the last several years, theapplied field of RFID technology has been extended surprisingly. It is foreseeable that in thefuture, all the books, electronics, pets and even people will take electronic tags. Therefore,RFID readers will be heavily used.For low-frequency RFID system, RFID tags with low cost and good penetration is easyto popularize. Therefore, the paper has designed one low frequency RFID reader, usingseparate components to build a RF module replace the traditional low frequency RF IC whichis expensive. Meanwhile, FPGA is used to control and decode the received data. Aimed atdeveloping a low-cost, portable low frequency RFID reader, which have longer identifydistance than the traditional low frequency RFID reader, and can be used in livestockbreeding monitoring.This paper analyzes the theoretical basis of RFID technology and design one lowfrequency RFID reader, including hardware design, PCB layout, FPGA digital logic systemdesign and so on. Through the RF module hardware circuit simulation to verify thecorrectness of the theoretical and the simulation results provides a premise to build thehardware circuit. After a large number of experimental testing, testing results show that thisdesigned low frequency RFID reader achieve the desired requirements and used portable,application is simple. Its characteristics satisfied the livestock breeding monitoringapplications and can get promoted. |
