Computer binocular stereo vision technology is a multidisciplinary overlappingtechnique, is an important field of computer vision research, is one of the most importantsources of a computer to access the outside environment information, its prerequisite andbasis is image science. In recent years, with the research and application of image sciencegradually mature, binocular stereo vision has become a new research hot-spot in the field ofcomputer vision.The main research contents of computer stereo vision is through many two-dimensionalplane images recovery out of the3D information of the objects photographed, The basicprinciple is to use the camera to imitate the human eye and human visual perception process,to photograph the same target objects in real scenes from two different viewpoints, to get theimage under different angle of view, and through the triangulation method to calculate theposition deviation between image pixels, so as to obtain the depth information of the3D scene,this technique has been wide application in many fields.A complete binocular vision system divides into image acquisition, camera calibration,corner detection, stereo matching, object location and depth map generation and so on six bigparts, the research contents of this paper is mainly include the camera calibration, cornerdetection, stereo matching and distance measuring system.First, integrated the actual situation, select the binocular transverse parallel patternstereo vision system, according to the choice of stereo imaging system model describes thebasic principle of stereo vision range.Secondly, in view of the camera calibration of binocular stereo vision system, this paperuses a plane calibration method based on black and white checkerboard calibration template,uses Opencv API function under the VC++6.0to process and calibrate the provided imageand obtains the camera’s internal and external parameters.Then, using Harris corner detection algorithm to test the calibration corner in thetemplate and extracting the angular point coordinates.Next, the paper introduces the stereo matching of binocular stereo vision ranging system. This paper uses a stereo matching algorithm based on the characteristics, the feature points onthe image matches with the corresponding points on another image, thus, obtained theparallax graphs. According to the coordinate transformation and the parallax distancemeasuring formula, calculate the parallax.Finally, according to the calibration results of camera calibration experiment, combiningwith the camera imaging principle and the principle of3D range to get the image parallax, anduse the formula of calculating to measure the distance.In this paper, using computer binocular stereo vision technology to realize the distancemeasurement system, it has advantage of simple operation and high measurement precision,suitable for a variety of distance measurement occasions. The work in this paper ispreparation and bedding for the next step of video streaming real-time monitoring andautomatic range.
