Large-scale application of power electronics and other non-linear powerload have caused serious harmonic pollution which gives a negative effect forefficient and safe operation of the power system. Active power filter (APF) hasbeen extensively studied and used as an effective device for controllingharmonic pollution. However, there are some difficulties to design the APFwith large-capacity and high-precision harmonic compensation.Firstly, the harmonic compensation principle of APF is analyzed. Someharmonic current detection and current tracking control method of APF areintroduced. A space vector model of three-phase shunt active power filter isestablished. The influence of output filter inductance and DC-side voltage onthe three-phase shunt APF harmonic compensation performance is analyzedbased on the model. The design method of APF parameters is proposed.Simulation model of APF with the design parameters is built. Harmonic currentdetection methods based on instantaneous reactive power theory andsynchronous rotating coordinate are compared. A low-pass filter applied toharmonic current detection is designed.The disadvantages of current tracking control method based on hysteresiscontrol and PI decoupling control is analyzed. A LCL-filter with activedamping is applied to three-phase APF in order to improve its harmoniccompensation performance and expand its capacity. On the other hand, arepetitive controller is designed for current tracking unit to improve theharmonic compensation accuracy of the APF with LCL output filter. Thenstability of control system and steady-state performance is analyzed.A test system based on the control chip TMS320F2812is built. Peripheralcontrol PCB including signal detection, system protection and IGBT driver isdeveloped. Finally, experimental results verify the feasibility and correctness ofproposed method...
