The main target of future satellite communication is supposed to provide the multimedia andhigh speed date transmission for Internet application anywhere and anytime. Subject to intensityshortage and expensive of space segment, it is extreme important and essential to ensure QoS (Qualityof Service) of the broadband service with efficiently utilizing bandwidth resourceFirstly, traffic modeling of China is proposed. Considering the uneven traffic distribution inChina, a traffic model of China was established according to the per-capita GDP (Gross DomesticProduct) and the density of population. Base on this model, a new Dynamic Channel Allocationtechnique in LEO satellite system was proposed.Secondly,a novel dynamic bandwidth management mechanism is presented in this paper tosolve the problem of long delay caused by traditional Demand Assigned Multiple Access. Firstly, thesatellite terminals predict the queue length of the buffer then send the reports to the network controlcenter, finally the resources will be allocated to the terminals by the network control center. Thetheoretical analysis and simulation results show that new algorithm can efficiently tackle the problemof delay between bandwidth request and bandwidth assignment. In succession, regarding to the delay requirements for different types of traffic, a novel resourceallocation scheme based on queueing delay within terminals is proposed. Through the analysis ofmaximum tolerance delay of different traffic, the assigned capacities are partitioned with prioritycoefficient. The simulation results show that the new partitioning scheme can improve the delay andutilization performance in satellite communication.Forthly, regarding to the characters of satellite communication and multifrequency time divisionmultiple access, Reserve Channel with Priority-fit (RCP-fit) is proposed to ameliorate the problem ofslot fragment and improve the performance of slot utilization. The simulation results show RCP-fitalgorithm can efficiently ameliorate the problem of slot fragment and improve the slot utilization. Finally, the main contributions of this dissertation are summarized and some suggestions anddirections for the future work in this field are given.
