Nowadays, the technology of wireless communication has been developed rapidly. As animportant frequency selecting device, microwave filter plays a key role in the performance of themicrowave circuit. Under the continuously growing demand of the users, the design of the microwavefilter is also on the trend of high performance and low loss. Therefore, in this context, the design ofmicrowave filter based on LCP we discussed in this paper has an important meaning. Especially, LCPwas born at the90’s in the20thcentury, and after the unremitting efforts of the researchers, it was putinto commercial use at the beginning of the21th century. And in the USA, Europe and other developedcountries, the application of the LCP has a break through, however, in China, there isn’t manyresearch on this aspect.The main contents of this thesis are listed as follows:1. Research and survey on the application and the situation of the material LCP, which is thefoundation for the posterior research.2. Based on the traditional filter design method, we had successfully designed a double layerUWB filter based on the LCP substrate,with three open circuit stub, the stop band has beeneffectively broadened, and the performance of the design has been proved to be acceptablethrough the software simulation, and the result shows we can use the relatively simplestructure to achieve the requirement.3. Research on the SIW filter, discussed its basic structure and transmission characteristics.Designed a SIW metallic via filter in the specific desired band, and then discussed the designof an inductive window of SIW filter, based on the single cavity filter, we had designed adouble cavity filter and a four cavity filter, and finally we designed a four cavity SIW filterfor the Ka band. All the designs in this section are based on the LCP substrate, and had beenproved by the simulation of the software that the result satisfies the requirements.
