Rubber roller is used in the printer device and easy to wear. The running status of rubber roller has an impact on the efficiency and stability of the printer. The friction between rubber roller and paper is the basis of by complete the function of feeding paper, so it improves efficiency and stability of printer and increases the economic benefit that researching the friction characteristics between the rubber roller and paper.Based on the separate wheel point paper model, the paper makes mechanical analysis. A necessary condition of successfully separating paper are that the coefficient of friction between active separation roller and paper is more than the coefficient of friction between passive separation roller and paper which is more than the coefficient of friction between paper and paper. RecurDyn is used to analysis the separation paper process simulation, the results indicate that the rotational speed of roller, the positive pressure and the coefficient of friction between the sheets of paper have a great influence on the effect of the separation paper.To better understand the performance of the outer rubber of rubber roller, we built a creep experiment platform. Through the creep experiment and axial compression experiment of silicone rubber and nitrile rubber, the results indicate that the constitutive model of rubber is the linear viscoelastic standard linear solid model, besides the model parameters, the rubber model in ANSYS is Mooney-Rivlin models. On the basis of the rubber model, the rolling contact model between rubber roller and paper is built. Through theoretical calculations, the rolling friction coefficient formula between rubber roller and paper, contact stress distribution function and the contact width are established. The paper analysis contact characteristics by MATLAB software and explain the causes of phenomena. Using ANSYS/LS-DYNA simulation software to analyze the contact stress, and lay the foundation for the future design of the new shaped rollers.The paper tests silicone rubber and nitrile rubber friction experiments by rubber roller friction experiment platform. Through analysis the experimental data and using the fitting of a polynomial and function, the empirical and modified formula of friction coefficient about positive pressure, speed. To better understand the characteristics of friction rollers, wear test was conducted. Its macroscopic surface morphology, microstructure, friction coefficient, weight loss and so on are discussed.
