Digital watermarking technology is a new type of information hiding technology,and it’s very effective in multimedia applications such as copyright protection etc.This paper presents a viable automatic monitoring scheme for digital televisionbroadcast system by using the digital video watermarking technology, based on thedetailed analysis of the present situation of digital watermarking technology. Thesystem can effectively prevent rebroadcasting, miss-broadcasting, illegal insertbroadcasting, etc., and ensure the safety of the program broadcast.The main contents are as follows:Firstly, the paper briefly introduces the frame constitution and the functionalstructure of the intelligent monitoring system, then points out the core technology ofthis monitoring system, which is digital video watermarking technology, after adetailed analysis of the implementation methods on the various existing digitaltelevision monitoring system.Secondly, the author studies many aspects of the digital video watermarkingtechnology, such as the models, characteristics, evaluation indicator, embedding andextraction algorithms and means of attack, then points out the method of videowatermarking algorithm in this paper.Then, the author designs the automatic monitoring system solutions based on theMPEG-2video coding standard for digital TV, and optimizes the watermarkembedding and extraction algorithms by a large number of experiments. For example,the author embeds the watermark information in discrete cosine transform(DCT)domain of the image through programming in Matlab by using its powerful datacalculation ability, then increases the algorithm’s robustness and security usingArnold scrambling and spread spectrum based on M-sequence code, and finallyvalidates the algorithm’s robustness and real-time.Finally, the author finishes the design and implementation of the automaticmonitoring system by using data calculation ability of Matlab programming and goodvisual interface design ability of GUIDE plug-in, and then the system functions areverified.
