After the birth of collective behavior, the study on it keeps on going and never stops. Thereare many social events in the media that attract people’s eyes. We do not only study the crowds’behavior, but also the behavior of other kinds of groups, such as flowing, flock, school of fish. In2007, Yaneer Bar-Yam introduced a collective behavior model, which could predict the locationwhere fightings between different regions with different cultures take place. Using this model, hesuccessfully predicted the location of fighting in former Yugoslavia and India. He showed us thepower of the collective behavior. In the old days, we used to make research on collective behavior by statistics. Nowadays, theusing of multi-agent based modeling is becoming more popular and more useful when studyingcollective behavior. There is a classical multi-agent model called”Boids”, which is introduced byReynolds, can both qualitatively and quantitatively analyse the movement of birds flock. Mean-while, Helbing showed us another multi-agent model in which the agents interactive with othersby a force called”social force”. He used this model to analyse the reason of the panic of crowd, and the best strategy of evacuation. Both of the two models give us big platforms to play on.Today, the multi-agent based models have been widely used in all areas of society.Chase and escape can be found everywhere around us. The former studies on chase and escapefocus on1chaser pursuits1target, or1chaser pursuits N targets, or N chasers pursuit1target.There are a few studies make study on a group of chasers pursuit another group of targets. Hardlycan we find a model with a third character-protector, which makes the model into chase-protect-escape model. Today, most of the chase and escape models are based on1D or2D space, only asmall number of studies take place in3D space. The purpose of this paper is to make study of thecollective behavior of chase-protect-escape model in3D space. After carrying out our model, we find two interesting results. First, there is an optimal valueof chaser’s sight range, which can make the attack efficiency highest, make the targets’ life timeshortest. Second, we found that in3D space, there is a range of targets’ max speed, when targets’speed fall into this range, no matter how the speed changes, as long as the speed is in the range, the targets’ life time will make no change. The latter result cannot be found in2D model. Theseresults can used as source of references when further researches make study on similar stuff.
