With the rapid development of the Internet age and the popularization of the terminal de-vices like computers, mobile phones and tablet PCs, all kinds of Internet products have been influencing in all aspects of people’s daily life, especially the instant messaging platform, which promotes the communication between different persons very much and thus demonstrates its wide market prospect gradually. Therefore, to research and design a convenient, efficient, in-expensive communication platform without the problems like software overstaffing, singularity of interactive mode and unrecyclability is one of the urgent needs in the current Internet age.In this context, this paper researches and implements a new instant messaging platform-Unified Object Interaction Platform, based on the Gridware model. The Gridware model is a new software system architecture proposed by Research Institute of Computer Systems at South China University of Technology. This paper does a deep research for the Gridware model, and explores the technologies like field, grid, fuser, gridware engine, etc. As the Gridware can involve different heterogeneous objects like Internet services, application, Internet of Things and make encapsulation through standard interface, which achieves the effect of resources fuse. This paper develops some cases of involving different objects into the Gridware to make better analysis of the Gridware model.After some research about the Gridware system, this paper designs the server and the client for the Unified Object Interaction Platform based on the Gridware model. We uses the XML message standards to communicate with each other. Different types of messages make use of an object-stream convertor to convert the messages to plain text stream for network transmis-sion. The server is mainly responsible for communication with different users, maintaining the online status of friends and objects, the add and remove of friends and the lists. The client is mainly responsible for registration, login, displaying messages and add or remove of friends. The interfaces and the standards of the platform are all based on the Gridware model and every subfunction is designed as a fuser, then these fusers are combined using the topological struc-ture diagram in the visual modeling environment of the Gridware, which implements a fully functional GridChat client. Then after the development of the platform, we can put it into the fuser library as an extended fuser to enrich the Gridware model, meanwhile, it supplies a very efficient and high-reusability instant messaging platform.
