Squeeze film bearing is a new means of support based on the gas squeeze-film theory. Squeezefilm bearing has simple structure and good ability to adapt. Hence, it has a broad application prospectin the field of high precision instrument and micromachining. Although the research on squeeze filmbearing continuously evolve, but have not been able to get effective application in the field ofengineering. Designing a suitable for squeeze film bearing drive control system will be an importantsegment to promote the development of gas film bearing to the production practice.The influence of oscillation amplitude and excitation frequency to squeeze film was analyzed bynumerical method to gas lubricated Reynolds equation which based on gas squeeze film theory.According to the analysis of the conclusion, a control system design scheme of gas squeeze filmfloating platform was proposed. The hardware of the control system had been designed and made.Digital controller module, based on STC12C5412AD MCU, is the core of the hardware circuit. Inaddition, the hardware circuit also includes a variable gain amplifier module, a signal generatormodule and a drive power supply module circuit. A mathematical model of gas squeeze-filmlevitation stage was build by the method of simplified mechanical model. At last, the software ofcontrol system is written in C language which is based on the principle of incomplete differential PIDcontrol algorithm.The experiment system of gas squeeze-film levitation stage was build. An experiment has beenfinished by the use of this control system, and the results show that the control system could meet theneeds of stable suspension of gas squeeze-film levitation stage, and provide the basis for the furtherimplementation of more advanced control methods.
