Software radar is a radar probing technique combining traditional radar andmodern soft defined radio. Its system control and most of the data signal analysis arehandled by the software, and this is also the key differences between software radarand the traditional digital circuit radar. The ideal states of software radar containsonly the software platform and transmit and receive antenna, but in the practicalapplication, because of the technical restriction, software radar hardware platformconsists of RF, ADC and DAC, FPGA module, etc. In this dissertation, byintroducing the principle of each module circuit can understand their workarchitecture and then design and implement a universal software radar of high speeddigital signal processing circuit.Based on the “863” project and the radar system basic structure, this dissertationhas presented several kinds of software radar hardware structure design, analyzed itsadvantages and disadvantages, and then finalizing a software radar system suitable foractual application-pipeline structure. The realization process of the software radarincludes drawing each module into schematic diagram and connecting them into awhole, and then processing PCB drawing. after the success of the plating, it is neededto evaluate the circuit in the hardware platform.Software radar not only relies on hardware platform, its core is software process.By introducing the software platform GNU Radio working mode, using "Closedloop” experiment to test the software radar hardware platform performance. Thepowerful functions of Software platform of software radar also embodied bycombined with other data process software. This dissertation read the stored datarefactoring of received signal through using Matlab software.Many of the advantages of software radar make it inevitably become theimportant direction of modern radar technology.
