The optical communication technologies develop rapidly with its uniqueadvantages. Acquisition, tracking of the space beam and accurate pointing of thetarget ATP (Acquisition Tracking Pointing) control technology are all of greatimportance in space optical communications. At the same time, PID (Proportion,Integration, Differentiation) control technology is one of the key technologies.The principle and structure of ATP compound control system are analyzed andthat the tracking precision of tracking loop determines the control precision of thewhole control system is proved.Then, the basic PID control technologies both with one degree of freedom andtwo degrees of freedom are discussed.In order to improve existing control technologies, four new degrees of freedomPID control technologies (two degrees of freedom and three degrees of freedom PIDcontrol) are proposed and simulated on the basis of intelligent control technology, theSmith prediction control technology and the existing a variety of PID controltechnologies. The simulation results show that the new control method can achievegood tracking and anti-interference performance.Finally, based on ATP compound control loop, SISO forecast control technologyand the improved PID control technology are applied in coarse and fine trackingloops, and simulation results of which are compared respectively, proving that thenew control method has better performance in the ATP system.
