With the continuous development of communication technology, the limited radio spectrum resources are faced with the exposive communication data increase, especially in the 4G communication requirements of a higher rate, which make bigger challenges on the limited wireless spectrum resources. Smart antenna has brought new ideas on solution of these issues, and it was considered as the "new frontier" in wireless communication technology.In the future wireless mobile communication system, improving the performance of wireless transmission by the further development of smart antenna technology will become one of the key technology in 4G. Currently, the software radio technology has made rapid development,so national experts have more favored the research of smart antenna technology based on it, and have developed many smart antenna system architecture based on soft-radio.In the paper,firstly, the author illustrates the principles, structures, signal model of the smart antenna, and recognizes that the differences between ordinary antenna and smart antenna, and then forecasts the trend of the future development of smart antennas; then describes thoroughly sentencing guidelines in the best filter of adaptive algorithm and several typical adaptive algorithm, and make algorithm performance analysis and computer simulation on the LMS algorithm and RLS algorithm based on minimum mean square error (MMSE), and then make the computer simulation on algorithm based on blind CMA (constant modulus algorithm) , analyzing its advantages and disadvantages, and finally discusses hardware implementation and verification of intelligent antenna systems on thoery.
