The Discourse Strategy Of Participants In The Network Event

The convenience and rapidity of online communication facilitate the occurrence and development of internet event. The internet events can not only trigger a fierce discussion among netizens but also lead to a mass disturbance, which will finally impact the normal social order and affect the society adversely. It is of great necessity to study the influence of the occurrence and operation of internet event on the construction of a harmonious network environment. From the most of the network events, we can see that both the occurrence and development of internet event proceed amid the behaviors of netizens and their interactions, the former of which realize themselves through roles played by netizens and the latter through “discourse”. Therefore, the paper mainly analysis the roles played by netizens and their discourse strategies through four parts.The first part of this paper mainly explained that the online post is an important carrier of the role and the discourse strategy analysis of netizens. This research based on the online posts about Yao Jiaxin case on Tianya Forum. According to the amount of online post and replies, the netizens mainly played the roles of opinion leaders and followers. Through the title, content of the test and the interaction of the post,we can definite the structure of the discourse analysis as the discourse strategy of title, the discourse strategy of content and the discourse strategy of interaction.The second part mainly analysis the discourse strategies of opinion leaders. The discourse strategy of opinion leaders is mainly reflected in the title and content of the text. In the Yao Jiaxin case, In terms of the headline, the opinion leaders using the words that highlight the parties involved, applying the punctuation marks in arranging the headline structure and utilizing different syntactic structures that unfold their discourse attitudes, using emphasize their leadership and professional discourse strategies.As for the text writing, they adopt the common discourse strategies in describing the core parties involved including “contrasting” the different standpoints of statements, asking “rhetorical questions”, “questioning the parties involved continuously” and “voicing rationally” based on the reality. And carry out the individual discourse strategies toward using “ours” instead of us, “deducing” and “analyzing” the nature of the event and “critical” the social problems.The third part mainly divided the follower type and analyzed their discourse strategies. The follower’s discourse strategy is reflected in the interaction between the follower and the opinion leaders. According to different opinion tendency, Followers can be divided into proponent and opponent followers. In terms of the common discourse strategies, both of the proponent and opponent followers refine the main idea and “transfer” the center of the discourse. As for the individual discourse strategies, the proponent followers express their support and approval and build a consistent “value construction” by “labelling” the event; Meanwhile the opponent followers adopt the rational discourse strategies including satirizing, appealing and analyzing the event objectively.The fourth part mainly come to the conclusion and explains the content which can be in-depth studied in the future. The interaction between proponent followers and opinion leaders is a cooperative interaction. And the interaction between opponent followers and opinion leaders is a competitive interaction. The concrete interaction mode among the followers and opinion leaders worthies a deep research in this study.
